About Infotex
For more than 20 years we’ve been creating websites and implementing digital strategies for companies internationally but focusing largely within the UK.
We have a strong multidisciplinary team and are now looking to expand our WordPress team with a technically minded designer.
About the role
You will share responsibility for developing high quality, responsive WordPress websites. This will include designing pages, working with custom themes, building pages from a library of prebuilt blocks and contributing to blocks where appropriate.
You will work within a small team of WordPress developers and designers with support from the wider production team. Your responsibility will be for the design and build of our WordPress development projects, seeing them through the entire life cycle. This involves contributing to designs and specifications, testing, and supporting your work after it goes live.
A typical project for you is likely to involve understanding requirements and producing some static page designs, handling feedback and revisions with the support of the project manager and developers. Once in production, you will likely be taking blocks built by the developers on the project and utilising them to create the pages based on your visuals. You will likely need to tweak some css and html as part of this process but will be supported by the developers.
The role would suit someone who has a good understanding of digital design and is comfortable working within the WordPress editor to build pages with some exposure to css and html. Perhaps you are a freelance web developer now looking to work within a larger team. This is a role that you can make your own with scope to advance into more technical aspects, diving deeper into custom development, or growing further into design
Key skills required
- WordPress knowledge (especially Gutenberg and full site editing)
- Comfortable producing designs in Figma, Sketch, or the Adobe suite.
- Some knowledge of HTML & CSS
- Commercial experience in delivering WordPress sites
- Knowledge of Web Accessibility standards a plus
